Q1 Where is CPC?

Central Pacific College(CPC) is two minutes by foot from Ala Moana Center, the largest shopping center in Hawaii. You can also walk to Ala Moana Beach by foot. CPC is conveniently located close to both Waikiki and Kaka’ako.
There are many famous locally owned shops and cafes near CPC. There are also nearby bus stops.

What is CPC

Q2 What is the age range of Central Pacific College students?

There is a wide age range of students at CPC. Classes typically have an average age of 30 to 40 years old. At CPC, you will typically find younger and older students interacting and forming friendships.

Q3 What are the admission dates?

STEP: Every Monday except on holidays.
EPP: The first, fifth and ninth week of every term.

STEP: One month before your planned start date.
EPP: Two to three months before your planned start date.

Q6 What do I need to submit to apply?

For EPP Students

1. Application
2. A copy of your passport (photo page)
3. The minimum balance of your bank statement needs to be over $20,352. The bank statement must be in English and also submitted no later than 3 months prior to the date of the I-20 issuance. $20,352 is the total cost of living expenses and tuition fees in order to study at CPC.

If said student does not have enough money on their bank statement (and are therefore ineligible to attain student status for a full year) they may instead study in the program for whatever length of time their actual funds make them eligible for.

Q8 Any partnership with colleges?

Central Pacific College has partnered with Kapiolani Community College (a part of the University of Hawaii system) to allow students to easily transfer from CPC to KCC.

Q9 Activities?

Central Pacific College hosts FREE activities every month. These activities range from stand up paddle and surfing lessons to BBQs, academic workshops and tours to all parts of Oahu. If you have a request for an activity, feel free to talk to any faculty or staff and we will try our best to make it happen.

Q10 Kids program?

We have a summer kids program called “Club Keiki”. The program is designed for children 6 to 14 years of age. This program provides the children with the opportunity to participate in specific Hawaiian activities in the morning while engaging in English classes in the afternoon. These trips and classes aim to improve students’ communicative skills.

Q11 Housing arrangement?

You can arrange your housing yourself or we can arrange a residence, homestay or private condominium through a third party company for you.

Q12 Welcome Day at CPC?

You will be welcomed by CPC’s friendly faculty and staff. On your Welcome Day, you will take a placement test to determine the best language level for you. The placement test consists of a writing test, speaking test and a multiple choice test. After your placement test, you will do Orientation with a CPC faculty member. Orientation will guide you through the ins and outs of life at CPC. In addition, you will fill out any necessary paperwork. On your Welcome Day, you will be able to meet the school’s Director of Studies and we will be here to answer any and all questions you may have.
